Cyanotype, commonly known as sun print, is a photographic method using light-sensitive iron salts. A pattern is created by placing objects on photo emulsion and exposing it to UV light.
My inspiration to make Cyanotypes comes from my passion for photography in all its forms. This process in particular is conducive to the tangible nature of creating art.
I enjoy foraging for botanicals, allowing me to channel the outdoor enthusiast in me, and the magical process of waiting for the Cyanotype to reveal itself. There is an element of surprise in each piece. I have to have faith in the process, which gives me the room to experiment and explore with abandon.
I hope you find something here that brings you joy.
